Where we are

A fishing village, a town founded on the sea and by the sea. A wide white square, lime-washed houses in the old centre, then churches, alleys and squares, and noble palaces from the eighteenth century.

Here and there the remains of medieval fortifications tell its older story. Golden beaches with clear water, and a harbour that still holds a living seafaring culture.

But Monopoli is countryside too: old olive groves, fortified farmhouses and rock churches. From here, an hour by car takes you to Alberobello, Ostuni, Polignano and Matera.
